New let down, a different head hunter called and thought I was a perfect match for a job he had in a tool shop that paid between $70,000 and $80,000 to start! Wow I was pumped, till I was sent the job requirements and expectations, a good many of which I didn't have or match. oh well easy come easy go. The head hunter agreed after we talked today that I am not a good match for that job. Still hunting....

Well I apparently didn't make it any farther on the job at the sweeping place. Oh Well. At least I made several of the cuts, that is the farthest so far. Now I am in the hands of a headhunter, he says that he has three jobs that I am a match for in his opinion. I had an hour and a half interview with him. Now to see if his clients think I am a match with them. Who knows.

I got a call! So I made the next cut. My half hour phone interview took right at one half hour. I think I gave good answers. We shall see. They said it would take a week or two to finish the calls then they would invite those they are interested in talking to further for a face to face interview. Keep your fingers crossed!

Well now that I have graduated from college, (Aug. 27th 2011) I am on the job hunt. So far I have sent resume's to a million companies, seems that way anyway. Most have send me an e-mail saying thanks but no thanks. However the other day I actually got a call from a live person who said that I had made the first cut from hundreds of resume's down to 30 resume's. If they are interested after the next cut they said they would call for a phone interview within a week. We shall see.

I have finally completed all the requirments to graduate from Ohio University with a Bachelors Degree! Now I am just waiting on the peice of paper. It has been a long 3 1/2 years, just ask my wife. She has been supporting us and encouraging me to keep on keeping on. Now I need to find a job! I love you Laurie! thank you for all you have done for me.

Today I recieved my authority from the State of Ohio to perform marriages. All it took was a letter from the Stake President and ten dollars, and whala I am legal to perform marriages. I hope the state dosen't spend all ten bucks in the same place.

Well lots has happened since my last post. I am back in the pink from my surgery, the Dr. has released me to do anything I feel like doing. I have also started my last quarter in college, hopefully. And yesterday the 10th of July 2011 I was sustained and set apart as the Branch President of the Dayton 1st Branch. The last few years have been full of miricales in my life all leading up to this calling. Now my course has been set, I just need to follow the Savior and eveything will take care of itself.

Received my grades for the spring qarter at Ohio University. I recieved three B+'s. Yup a B+ in all three classes I took during the spring. I was hoping for at least one A, but it was not to be. In the class that I thought I would get an A I missed it by 2 points. In the other two classes I missed A's by 3 points in each class. Over all ok. Now on to the summer quarter and my last three classes! Assuming that I pass all three of them I will graduate at the end of summer. Wish me luck.

Well now that I have heald, the Dr. says that I can mow my own yard and rototill the garden, and do anything else I feel like doing, except I am not to lift more than 10 lbs. yet, and never do any situps, darn it. The situp thing is because he is afraid that it will cause a hernia at the incision site. I doubt that it would but he is the Dr. Health wise everything is good, my wieght is down to 225 now, Dr. Watson wants me to weigh 210, so I am not to far away from the goal. I think with a little work I can make it. I go back to the surgen for one last time in about three more weeks, then he is done with me and counts it as a job well done. He is an excellent Dr. with a good bed side manner, Dr. Paul O'brien if any of you ever need cut on.

My walks are up to 2.5 miles now, and I haven't fallen since the first fall several weeks ago. The road rash is all heald up, and I am good to go!

Out for a walk

Just went for a walk again, all was going well till I started to head home. Then for some reason, I tripped and fell, not your normal fall where you catch yourself with your hands, I fell litterally flat on my face. I did not pass out or anything like that, just tripped an fell. Needless to say I have road rash on the right side of my face and on my chin, blood etc. Overall I'm ok, no problems with my recent surgery etc. just my face and the road rash.

I have been recovering from my recent surgery. So far my grass has been mowed every week by one of our sons or sons in law, the bushes we wanted pulled out are gone and the bushes we wanted trimmed are trimmed. With lots of help from our kids and there spouses, more work has been done since I've been off duty than two years of me on duty! Thanks to one and all for all the help!

Angels

Some people belive in Angels and some people don't. I for one do, and I have proof, you see I am married to one. My Angel wife Laurie who has, and is taking such good care of me during my recovery and healing from my recent surgery. She is always available to help me, even though she is working day and night to support us, since I am unemployed. She carries on without sleep, never stopping to think of herself. She is truley my Angel wife. I love her with all my heart. Thank you Laurie. I LOVE YOU !

Long two weeks

I returned home from the hospital on Tuesday this week, after a two week hospital stay to fix an obstructed small intestine. This was the longest two weeks of my life. I am now doing well and trying to complete my recovery. So far so good, however, I can not drive my car, can not mow my yard, can not lift more than 10 lbs. etc. ..........

School starts again on Monday, yipee? Only six more classes to go till I'm a Bachelor of Technical and Applied Studies! Online classes are really weird, but it is nice to not have to dress up to attend class! Last quarter I got three A's and one B. Have a GPA of 3.6 and made the deans list.

Went to the Bishops Store House today with four others, had a good time and we finished up one hour ahead of schedule.

Life continues, classes are about over for this quarter, just two more weeks left. Then a week off and then start all over agian in the spring quarter. Only two more quarters to go, spring and summer! Then the real test, to find a job. Hopefully a good one that we can live on the wages it pays. We shall see, so far we have been blessed beyond our wildest dreams this past three years or so. The future, whatever it holds, looks better than the past! ;-)

Life continues to amaze me! Things just keep getting better and better. Before you know it life will be to good to exist here!

2 weeks into the Winter quarter and it is really full of busy work. Lots of assignments that don't mean anything, lots of research for nothing etc. Just busy work. I guess if it gets me the degree it is ok. But it is frustrating.

Today starts the Winter Quarter! Three new classes with lots of busy work to do. I hope all goes well with the school work so that I can finish my degree as soon as possible and get back to work! My Journalism class in December finished very well with a final grade of 94.5
